Mostly Play Day....

Mr. Cool Dude colors a picture!

Seems the guy / remote control thing truly IS universal!!!!

Feeing the fish--one itsy, bitsy, teeny, tiny bit at a time!!!!

No fear of new things here!!!!

Some of the more common appartments, with a glimpse of
the new skyscapers encroahing in on them....

Hi, All! I am pooped today and ready to go to bed, even thought it is all of 8:45 p.m., so this will be brief, especially as my husband who was supposed to put Joshua to bed an hour ago is still up watching Denzel Washington movies with him and I guess I need to go in and have a little discussion with them.... :>) :>) (Really, I could just go shopping tomorrow afternoon and leave him home with the stressed child going on little sleep, and I think my point will be made for me!)

Today we visited some local "touristy" places, getting there by taxi being half of the adventure!!!! :>) I won't go into it for those of you who have heard it all before, but for those of you who haven't, traveling by taxi in China is a death-defying trip each and every time, or at least it seems so! Even our guide gasped today ( and she is old pro!) as we came within milimeters of being broadsided by bus! Russell and I gasp often, and I am pretty sure the driver's enjoy that! :>) :>) :>) No guts, no seatbelts, no glory!!!!

We visited a local botanical park, where Joshua enjoyed feeding the fish, one, single tiny bit at a time! Even the fish were losing interest! Then we took the tram up to the top of the mountain, and here is the part that is amazing about that (well, the view was okay too!): there were 1000's of people of ALL ages trooping up and down that mountain--from elderly down to toddler!!!! Many of the women were doing it in high-heeled shoes and dressed fit to kill! How embarrasing to be a huge and lazy American!!! They PAY for the privilege of doing this thing as well--they are very commited to keeping thier bodies fit and it shows....

Later in the day, we went to appy for Jeremy's visa--I think! Sorry, it is a fog at the moment! :>) Anyway, another exciting taxi ride to the other side ofthe city to have them look at our faces to match with out passports, and laugh at our cornball son! Yep, that pretty much sums it up!

Last night, Joshua cried after being put to bed. We thought he was singing, as it sounded like little repetative phrases, but when I went to check on him, he was quietly lying on the end of his bed crying and repeating this same phrase over and over... Of course, I have no idea what he was saying, but I know that he was a very sad guy. He got over it pretty quickly when I held him and rocked him, but it was so sad to see him that way.

Today, on the other hand he was FULL of energy and personality and silliness--he commands attention every where he goes with his antics and his shades and his Curious George backpack, which he reuses to leave at home, as he has to be just like Daddy with his backpack. He cracks us up, but he is BUSY!!!! Look out Freeburg, you have been warned about a non-stop little Asian guy headed your way!!!

I am sure there is more to say, but my mind is blank! :>) :>) I will post a few pictures and call it a day. I will try to post tomorrow a little earlier in the day so that I am a bit more coherent!

Till then....
